Domain Renewal & Expiry Policy
Table of Contents
At KDigital Hosting, we want to ensure your domain names remain secure and active. Please review our renewal and expiry policy to understand what happens if a domain is not renewed on time.

TL;DR
Expired domains can be renewed at the normal cost within 30 days. After that, a $120 redemption fee applies. Domains not renewed during redemption are deleted and may be lost permanently.
Renewal Responsibility
- Domains must be renewed on or before their expiration date to ensure continuous service.
- We recommend enabling auto-renewal in your client portal for added protection.
Grace Period
- After a domain expires, there is a 30-day grace period during which it can still be renewed at the standard renewal cost with no additional fee.
- During this period, the domain may stop resolving, which could interrupt your website, email, or DNS services.
Redemption Period
- If a domain is not renewed within the 30-day grace period, it enters the Redemption Period (typically up to 30 days, depending on the extension).
- To recover a domain in redemption, you must pay:
- The standard renewal fee, plus
- A $120 USD redemption recovery fee.
- Redemption is not guaranteed, as the registry may release or delete the domain at any time.
Domain Deletion
- If the domain is not renewed during the redemption period, it will be deleted from the registry.
- Once deleted, the domain becomes publicly available for registration and may be taken by another party.
Best Practices for Clients
- Keep your email address and contact details current so you receive renewal reminders.
- Enable auto-renewal on important domains to avoid downtime.
- Renew domains several days before expiry to prevent unexpected issues.
